As we all like to dream to be a 'Princess Bride', I start you off with lyrics to an amazing & romantic filmy song: 'Raja Ko Raani se Pyaar Ho Gaya, pehli naazar mein pehla pyaar hogaya...' This translates to the king is in love with the queen in the first glance and it only took one glance for this to be true for the two.
This bring us to the story of Vijay and Sapna met who July 17th, 2009 at a mutual friend’s event. The two were destined to be together as their paths had crossed many times to the point that they even have 153 mutual Facebook friends! Upon reconnecting the two immediately drew an attraction towards each other only to realize they were so alike and shared so many mutual interests and family values. All this led to them taking their dating relationship a step further.
Nine months later Vijay planned a trip to South Beach during the weekend of May 7th, 2010. After arriving in South Beach and settling in Vijay & Sapna had dinner reservations at the famous South Beach hotspot WISH. Over dinner they enjoyed intimate conversations about how happy they were to find each other and how fast their relationship had flourished, both felt as if they had known each other for years. After dinner Vijay kept insisting that they go hang out at the hotel pool or go do something. Sapna was all for it as her plan was to end up going to sleep, but little did she know Vijay had a major surprise in store for her. As they arrived back to The Tides Hotel, Sapna was very impressed by the hotel staff who came to personally greet them and ask them about their evening out. The two enjoyed a few luscious libations at the hotel bar before calling it a night, or at least that’s what Sapna thought. As they got off the elevator and Vijay opened the door to the room, much to Sapna’s amazement she was adorned by a blanket of rose petals accompanied by an ambiance of glittering candles all over from the floor to the furniture to the bed and balcony.
Clearly Sapna’s reaction was: “Oh my god, what are you doing,” at which point Vijay took her by the window, got down on one knee and expressed what she meant to him along with the famous words every girl wants to hear, “Will you marry me?”
As Sapna jumped up and down in circles with glee she accepted his proposal with a big “YES", and I am going to be the future Mrs. Vijay Vanmali!!!!” The two enjoyed the rest of their evening with some champagne to begin the celebration of starting their journey together.
