Ace photographer Soumen Nath talks about how to prepare for a Pre-Wedding Shoot...
You might be confused as to how you need to prepare for your Pre wedding shoot. So here’s some light for you, so that you are well prepared for this special day in your life. Remember Pre-Wedding couple shoot is a teamwork between you and your photographer. Each has a role to play to make the pictures look good. So it always helps if you are well prepared beforehand.
Here are a few tips for the couples who have decided to have a Pre-Wedding couple photo shoot done.
Have a meeting with your photographer, preferably a face-to-face meeting, to get acquainted with his line of thoughts. Convey your thoughts to him. Discuss any theme you have in your mind. Or else leave it on the photographer and let him explain what he wants from you.
Do not show pictures taken by other photographers to your own photographer. That will kill his creativity. If you like that other photographer, go ahead and hire him. Remember, photos cannot be re-created. You are special and your photographs will also be special and unique.
Zero in on a date and time for the shoot. Your photographer might want you to reach the venue before sunrise. Don’t request him to delay it if you are really keen to get his best shots. The morning light is soft and would cause you to glow in the pictures. The afternoon lights are high and harsh and would cause deep shadows in your eyes. So you get dark circles in your eyes in those pictures. Not very good for you, right?
Decide the venue for the shoot. The venue is very important to make the pictures look really good. Shuttling from one venue to another might not be a good option in my opinion. You end up wasting time in travelling and most importantly, you loose the soft morning light and end up taking pictures in the harsh day light instead. If you intend to have your pictures taken in different locations, book separate sessions. Discuss with your photographer how he would like to do it.
Discuss about the dress you would like to wear. Your photographer might suggest some colours depending on the colour of the venue. If you are contemplating change of clothes in between the shoot, know before hand when and where you are going to do so. Finding a place to change might be a challenge in some places. Do not ask your photographer to find a place for you. Let him be immersed in his creativity so that you get the best out of him.
Props play a vital role in a Romantic Couple Shoot. The handbags you carry, the dupatta, the shoes, the accessories you wear all become some or the other elements in the pictures. So be careful about their selection. Sometimes flowers, an umbrella etc., can also create magic. Discuss with your photographer about these things in details.
Be well rested before the shoot, but get up early morning to have enough time for your make up. The pictures can only be as good as you look. The photographer will enhance them with a good composition and his artistic flair. But you indeed should look your best.
Last but not the least, enjoy your day. If you are in good mood, it will show in the pictures. Be happy, dance and play with your beau, frolic and prance around. If you can do just that, your photographer will give you some great pictures for you to cherish for the rest of your life.
So there you go all ready for the shoot. Have a ball...
