What's the trend in Wedding invitation cards this season?
Ravish Kapoor : There is a shift towards more neutral colors and floral self-prints. Floral self-print patterns are very in this season. As is the use of boxes that are keepsake items as people want their guests to keep the box as a memento of the wedding. Although traditional colors like Maroon and Gold are always still popular especially if the family is making the decision. However, when a Bride and Groom are making the decision the trend is more modern, with touches of Western styles.

What are the new and popular gift items that are accompany a wedding invitation card today?
Ravish Kapoor : Well Chocolates are still very, very popular. We have done many kinds of gifts from LLadro statues, beautiful ornate Ganesh back-dropped with a shell invitation. Incense, Mellisae Honey, Supari are popular especially with our 'Saat Pheras' invitation. We are now offering beautiful wooden boxes that are exquisitely finished that people will cherish for man years to come and people are viewing this box as part of the gift.

White Llardo Invitation : This was a lavish box created for a client who was gifted a Lladro dancing couple and wanted the box to tie in with the gift. The logo contained real Swarovski crystal and a silver plated replicate of the dancing couple was placed inside the wedding box.

We are aware of some of your celebrity clients....how was it designing for them?
Ravish Kapoor : Some of our celebrity clients include Shilpa Shetty, Karisma Kapur, Kohinoor Rice, Ashok Jain & Varun Jain (Bacardi), Flex Industries, Modi Group. Shilpa and Raj were very easy to work with as they had a set idea of what they wanted and were very involved in the design process. It always helps when the client has an idea and they can convey this, we as designers then have a seed to work with and turn the idea into a reality for the client.

Varun Jain's Invitation : The box, which was inspired, by the old wooden incense/jewel boxes of the 18th century used bronze papers, jewels clasps and gold foiling to create this elegant invitation. A silver agarbatti silver coated natural leaf and incense stick also was part of the gift.

Shilpa and Raj's Invitation : The invitation is held together with gold satin ribbon in which the vinyl royal logo is cut on acrylic and used to hold the gift box and innovation together. The reception card and logo were both inspired by Shilpa's desire to have something regal.

Is there a minimum price range for designer wedding cards?
Ravish Kapoor : There is no minimum or maximum per card. Due to the nature of our work price depends on the final sample selected by the client so we do not like to quote prices, as each client's need is different. The wedding box includes the card, box, inserters, labels, personalization of each invite, and the carry bag. Additional items can be provided and worked into the overall packaging price.

Potli Design Invitation : This unique yet ancient shape was created for a client who wanted a different way to present her gift of Silver Radha Krishna as well as potli's containing a variety of prashad. The invitations mounted in the lid could be removed to take to each function.

Some quick tips on how to choose a great wedding card!
1) The card should be to the family's taste. Have an idea of what design and style you are seeking it will help you make a quicker decision.
2) Decide on who in the family should make the initial design process to often people come with 6 - 8 family members and get 6-8 different ideas and become confused with what they want and like.
3) Decide on a budget that is practical for you. That way when you are looking at the invitations you can know what will best fit into your budget.
4) Allow enough time for the design process. When we have time to play around with different concepts it allows us to design a better concept for you.
5) Always order more cards than you think you need -inevitably you forget people on your list and it is more costly to make 10-20 pieces after the initial order.
